Gerber Foundation Grant
The Center for Pediatric Locomotion Sciences has been awarded a three year grant from The Gerber Foundation to conduct groundbreaking research on infants and toddlers with limb loss. This research, conducted in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Shriners Hospitals for Children – Shreveport, will investigate the effectiveness of a new prosthetic prescription protocol for these children. Principal Investigator Dr. Mark Geil says, “We’re challenging a longstanding standard of care, so this work has the potential to change treatment for kids across the country.”
The mission of The Gerber Foundation, based in Fremont, Michigan, is to enhance the quality of life of infants and young children in nutrition, care, and development. The Trustees of The Gerber Foundation are committed to improving the health and well-being of the youngest members of our society.
