icon-apply-undergrad2Health and Physical Education – Sport Coaching

The Kinesiology and Health Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Education in Health and Physical Education. The Sport Coaching, Physical Activity, Health and Wellness Concentration prepares sport coaching, physical activity, health and wellness professionals (CPAHW) to work in community sport and movement settings from early childhood through later adulthood. Areas of emphasis include movement skill development and analysis, personal health and wellness, pedagogical-disciplinary study, contemporary curriculum, instructional skills and models, sport coaching and development of athletes, and direct field experiences. This concentration also features a field-based approach but does not lead to initial teacher certification.

Undergraduate Admissions 

Tort liability insurance is required for program admission. It is recommended that all HPE majors join Georgia Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (GAHPERD) for $8.00 (Future Professional Membership). $1 million of Tort liability insurance coverage is provided with membership.
