Fall 2015 Sport Administration Program Graduate Interns

As part of their graduation requirements, students work 600 hours for a sport organization in their final semester.

Kate is working as the assistant soccer coach for the Agnes Scott College soccer team. She assists with all team duties required for coaching a successful Division III soccer team. She is involved in coaching duties on the field, as well as administrative duties in the office that includes organizing and completing all required paperwork and coordinating travel arrangements. Kate also assists with recruiting including calling prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school and junior college players, and maintaining an accurate records and database on the NCAA’s Compliance Assistant program.
Walter is working in the athletics department at Pace Academy in Atlanta. He manages Pace Athletics social media accounts, assists with game day operations, coordinates schedules for the high school and middle school teams, and assists with alumni relations. He graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in History in 2010.
Sabrina is the Graduate Assistant for Facility Operations at the Georgia State Student Recreation Center and is also currently completing her internship at Oxford College of Emory University, working as a Graduate Intern for the Center for Healthful Living. Her internship consists of providing support in the following areas: sports marketing, facilities management, protocols and policies, student management, intramurals, open recreation, physical education classes, website maintenance and special events. Sabrina, originally from Cullman, Alabama, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2012. Upon graduation, she hopes to enter the professional world of campus recreation working in either facility operations or intramural sports.
Silvano is currently an intern with Peach State Basketball. His duties include helping setup and coordinate basketball tournaments and camps, assisting with administrative duties, and assist with properly scouting and evaluating players. Silvano received his Bachelor’s Degree in Managerial Science from Georgia State University.
Jonathan is from Newnan, Georgia and currently working in the Georgia State Athletics Department with the Women’s Soccer Program. He graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2011 with a B.S. in Sport Management and Economics. In addition to working with the Women’s Soccer Program at Georgia State, he works with the Southern Soccer Alliance academy program and with the Georgia Soccer ODP staff.
Kerry will be working with the Agnes Scott softball department for her internship. She will be assisting with various task including recruiting, game contracts, emailing, fundraising, and coaching. In addition she will be assisting with creating a budget for a new softball field on campus. Kerry will also work cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attend department meetings and activities.
Barry is a Haitian American from Delray Beach, Florida.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. His passion for sports has fueled his education, and longtime goal of opening a community center/gym and starting a youth recreational football league. He currently is an intern with the i-DareU training camp program, which specializes in training young and professional athletes.
Stella joined the Savannah College of Art and Design Cross Country and Track and Field team as an Assistant Coach in the fall of 2015. This position allows her to take responsibility for the overall fitness conditioning of the SCAD student-artist athletes where she has to attend daily practices and overseeing student athletes. She also assists Head Coach, Patrick Reagan, in administrative office duties and recruiting.
Brandon is interning with Georgia State University’s aquatics program within their Department of Recreational Services. He will gain experience in facility management and maintenance, staff evaluation and development and risk management and instruction. After graduation, Brandon plans to work in a collegiate recreation program and is excited to extend his experiences.
Jack is from Coventry, England, currently interning for Southern Soccer Academy in a partnership with Georgia State University. He moved to the United States in 2009 on a college soccer scholarship and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration from Reinhardt University in 2013. Jack’s role at Southern Soccer Academy is Director of Recreation, running and managing a program of over 600 participants ranging from 4 – 19 years of age. Additionally, Jack works with a U13 and U17 Select team.
A native of Houston, TX, Kelley is interning with Ichiban Volleyball Club as a head coach, recruiting coordinator, and operations assistant. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sport and Fitness Management at Troy University. While at Troy, Kelley was a four-year letterwinner with the volleyball team. Kelley has previously worked for IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions and Georgia State Athletics where she served as a marketing assistant.
Kabir is an intern with LEJ Sports Group, a marketing sports agency that helps with the administration of national youth grassroots programs for the MLB, NBA, USOC and other clients. The overall goal of the organization is to establish working relationships with new and established local and regional youth sport organizations. Recently, his efforts were geared towards the coordination of the MLB Pitch, Hit, & Run Program. He was responsible for 10 different state markets for this program that entails nearly 4,500 local events, 200 sectional events, and 600,000 youth participants in the US and Canada. The finals for the program took place on July 13th, 2015 before the Home Run Derby held this year in Cincinnati, Ohio. Current;y, Kabir is shifting his pursuits towards some NBA Programs LEJ works with, including FIT, Dribble, Dish, and Swish, and the Gatorade Training Center. Kabir has been a part of LEJ’s efforts since February of this year.
Nikebra is a Chicago native that has enjoyed getting a variety of sports management-related experience throughout her time here in Atlanta. She has been privileged to work with organizations such as the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Hawks. Currently, she serves as the Administration Intern for the Georgia Dome. In this role, she has the opportunity to coordinate employee engagement initiatives and assist with guest satisfaction in a service recovery capacity.  She looks forward to learning more about an entity that hosts a variety of events, and how every department works collectively to provide southern hospitality.
A native of Rockville, Maryland, Chris earned his bachelors degree from Emory University in History, graduating in 2012. While at Emory, Chris was a member of the tennis team and would go on to become Assistant Coach immediately after graduation. His current responsibilities include organizing team trips, organizing and helping to run team practices, recruiting, working individually with members of the team, and various other tasks assigned by the head coach.
Landon graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2014 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and African American studies. Landon now is a graduate assistant for the marketing department within Georgia State Athletics where he is the marketing coordinator for court volleyball, beach volleyball and women’s basketball. Landon is a native of Athens, Georgia and alum of Athens Academy class of 2009.
Jaterra is from Lithia Springs, Georgia and currently works as a Graduate Assistant in the Agnes Scott College Athletic Department with the Women’s Basketball Program. She graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 2014 earning her degree in Sport Management with a minor in both Business Management and Psychology. Jaterra assists with preparations for practices and games. She is responsible for organizing, recruiting and mailing lists, and contacting prospective student-athletes.
Ariana Jackson is from West Palm Beach, Florida and is currently working as a Graduate Assistant in the Georgia State Athletics Department with the Women’s Basketball Program. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 after exhausting her five years of eligibility as a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. She assists with all aspects of the women’s basketball program including but not limited to video exchange, equipment, day-to-day operations and game day preparation.
Jack was born in Manchester, England and moved to the USA in 2008. He works within the Georgia State Athletics Department with the Men’s Soccer Program. He graduated from Erskine College in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education.
Barbora is from the Czech Republic and currently works as an intern with Emory University’s Athletic Department with the Women’s Tennis Program. She assists with coaching, traveling, recruiting, and teaching tennis clinics.

Kayla is a Women’s Basketball Operations Intern at Emory University. She assists with the day-to-day functions of the Eagles, such as helping practice run smoothly and planning travel for away games. She also is the Graduate Assistant for marketing and events with Emory Athletics. Kayla is a native of Daytona Beach, Florida and received her undergraduate degree in Sport Management form the University of Florida in 2013.
Rishawn is working with the Georgia State University Student-Athlete Development Department as an assistant academic advisor, mentor, and assistant to the tutor and life-skills coordinators. Georgia State’s Student-Athlete Development department provides Georgia State student-athletes with the personal tools and resources necessary to develop the total person, in addition to enhancing their success on the playing field. A native of Queens, N.Y., Rishawn attended Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD and graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science. He was a letterman with the Salisbury University track and field team, Resident Assistant to Housing and Residence Life, and also is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Upon graduation, Rishawn plans to either stay within collegiate athletics with Student-Athlete Development or work for USA track and field in their youth programs or International and Team Championships Department.

Ronald was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He moved to Georgia in the summer of 2007. Ronald graduated from Georgia State University in 2014, with a B.B.A. in Marketing and is currently interning with Georgia State Sports Marketing, working with football.

Lindsay is from Peachtree City, Georgia and currently works as an intern at The Galloway School. She graduated from Berry College with a degree in psychology. In addition to her duties as an intern, she is also responsible for streaming Galloway varsity basketball games live online via the NFHS network. She hopes to continue developing this initiative by recruiting Galloway students who are interested in broadcasting, media coverage, and sport promotion to learn the NFHS system and eventually manage broadcasts on their own.
Will is currently an intern with the sports communications office in the GSU Athletic Department. Prior to the internship, he served as the Sports Information Director for four sports and helped out with game day duties for other sports including football and men’s basketball. With the internship, Will is adding a fifth sport and will also be undertaking a new role as the social media manager for GSU Athletics. He enjoys working in the sports communication office because it gives him a chance to work with both the media and student-athletes while teaching him how to promote an athletic department through media.

Michael is working with the Osborne High School athletic programs, gaining knowledge on scheduling, scouting, and developing new marketing plans for the program. In addition, to his duties he also serves as an assistant coach of the cross country, track, and men’s basketball team. He graduated from Alabama State University in 2012 with a B.S. in Business Management. Prior to graduation, he also worked with the business athletic director as the business compliance intern.
Simone interns at The Galloway School in their athletic department. She assists with game operations, communication, marketing and administrative duties.
Ben is the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Emory University responsible for assisting in the coaching of the varsity athletic teams. The job requires him to work Monday through Friday and is expected to attend some athletic events. Some of his responsibilities include writing workouts for selected teams, conditioning athletes, maintain equipment, and disinfect weight room. He will also be required to have weekly meetings with coaches about their teams and what they can do to improve the athletes’ performance.
Christopher is currently the Leadership and Life Skills Program Specialist with Indiana University Athletic Department. In this position, he is in charge of the operations of programs that they strategically offer for student-athletes. He arranges programs and events for the personal and professional development for 650 student-athletes. Chris also serves as the liaison for the SAAC giving both guidance and assistance where it is needed.
Bailey is from Spartanburg, South Carolina and is currently an intern for the Agnes Scott College Volleyball team, where she is a volleyball coach. She graduated from Erskine College in 2014 with a B.S. in Physical Education. At Erskine Bailey played on the softball and volleyball team during her four years. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Sports Management and Administration Club (SMAC).
Francesca is the Fan Experience intern at the College Football Hall of Fame. As an intern she will assist the Fan Experience management team with various projects and daily operations.
Erin maintains the Hybrid Bermuda grass fields for baseball, softball, soccer, and football practice fields. She serves as the Game Administrator for baseball, softball, and soccer home games. She also assists with the game-day operations for football, basketball, volleyball, and beach volleyball home games. Specific duties include mowing, fertilizing, verticutting, aerifying, painting, edging, mound, plate and infield repair, and irrigation repair.
As a marketing intern with Georgia Tech Athletics, Hilary will begin and conclude her time with the agency that she began as a freshman at Georgia Tech. Currently, she is individually responsible for the marketing, promotions and communications plans for GT volleyball and baseball. In addition to her time spent as a Graduate Assistant, she will build upon my duties through this internship to complete operational responsibilities at football, volleyball, basketball and baseball events. Hilary will also be in charge of the newly re-launched Junior Jackets Kids Club, which involves communication to several hundred members, coordinating and running club events in conjunction with GT athletics, and actively marketing and recruiting new members. In additional, she will have one-off projects and assist with managing a group of undergraduate interns.
Patrick is an intern for Georgia State Athletics’ Department of Development and the Panther Athletic Club. He is responsible for processing Panther Athletic Club and restricted athletic gifts through the GSU Foundation, managing Panther Athletic Club social media accounts, creating and sending acknowledgement letters and birthday cards to PAC members, and assisting at special events such as the GSU Football Kickoff Luncheon and PAC Golf Tournament. The purpose of the Panther Athletic Club is to raise support for Georgia State Athletics scholarships and defray the $5.7 million cost of student-athlete scholarships the athletics department spends annually. In addition, the Panther Athletic Club seeks to generate additional and directed operational support to various sports, athletic facilities, women’s sports, and excellence funds.
